Blackford County Schools board approved its consent agenda Monday, including $1,629,941.86 in claims and a $210,000 transfer from the Education Fund to the Operations Fund. The transfer was larger than normal because no transfer was made in January. The board also accepted donations from the City of Montpelier, Indiana Farm Bureau, First Presbyterian Church, and Blackford United Sports Program. Minutes from the May 19 board meeting were approved, and several professional development requests were granted. In separate personnel votes, the board approved various resignations, set an October 1 start date for Matthew Williams, approved Master Sergeant Kaufman's modified retirement date from December 1 to October 1, and accepted three retirements. A school nurse candidate has been identified, with references currently being checked.Source: BCS School Board Meeting, June 16, 2026
