Baseball Fence Work in Montpelier Will Create Two Softball Fields
From the Montpelier Redevelopment Commission meeting on October 12, 2026
New fencing at Montpelier's baseball park is being set up to support more softball use, including two softball fields and a removable fence for the Little League field.
Officials said most of the fencing is now installed. They said the layout will allow two softball fields while also letting the Little League baseball field serve as a Softball Field for tournaments and other events when the removable fence is used.
Earlier this summer, city officials said fencing work was expected by mid-August as part of the plan to convert the field for broader use. Monday's update suggests the physical setup is now largely in place.
It was a smaller redevelopment item than Baldwin Park, but it still reflects a concrete change to town recreation facilities.
