Parker Bankruptcy Case Heads to Executive Session in Hartford City
From the Hartford City Property Standards Board meeting on July 8, 2026
The unresolved case involving Matt Parker's property at 1102 North High Street will move to a closed executive session on August 12 at 1:30 PM, a half hour before the next regular board meeting.
City Attorney Tyler Rothstein requested the closed session, citing attorney-client privilege regarding the bankruptcy case. Parker appeared at the meeting and expressed frustration with the delays: "Do you know how many times you've told me that? We're at three now," referring to being told he would have an answer within 30 days.
Parker stated he believes an automatic stay exists in his bankruptcy that prevents the city from acting on the teardown order. Rothstein declined to comment further, saying only, "We're not taking any action at this time." The board voted 2-0 to schedule the executive session.
